About this Event
Bringing together the themes of all three months, Artinfusion will take you on a tour around the artworks in Tateโs collection that deal with the theme of migration, including Yinka Shonibare, Meschac Gaba and an exciting new commission for the Tanks by Nora Chipaumire.
We will also visit the exhibition Gathering Ground, including artists who honour Indigenous knowledge and document issues such as displacement and destruction of land and waterways, inviting us to reimagine our relationships with the natural world and each other. We will end with the playful and dreamlike installations of Pipilotti Rist, Petrit Halilaj and Monster Chetwynd.
Who is it for?
This session is for anyone who wants to engage with art in a slower, more reflective way. Whether you visit galleries regularly or rarely, you are equally welcome. It is especially for people who are drawn to themes of migration, belonging, and cultural identity, and who want a shared, unhurried space to explore what those themes bring up. You do not need any knowledge of art or art history to take part.
What to expect?
This is slow looking with conversation. You will be gently guided to notice what draws your attention, share what you see, and connect with others around the themes the artworks open up. The pace is unhurried. The atmosphere is open and welcoming.
*This session is part of the Artinfusion membership programme, an Art&Connect session. It is also available as a single ticket for those who'd like to try a session before committing to the full season.
