About this Event
The law on preventing sexual harassment came into force on 26 October 2024. By law, all employers will need to take steps to prevent sexual harassment. From this date it will be a legal requirement for you to set up specific measures in your workplace to help prevent incidents of sexual harassment. This new law applies to all businesses, whatever the size.
Sexual harassment has a significant impact on employee mental health and wellbeing. A 2021 government consultation revealed 54% of employees had experienced sexual harassment at work.
The Equality & Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published guidance on the steps that companies need to take to ensure they are legally compliant. During this webinar we will be looking at what this means for companies, what steps you may need to take such as policies, communication, training and evaluation.
The session will enable you to understand:
- What is sexual harassment
- What the law changes entail
- What policies & procedures you need to have in place
- Training and education requirements
- The 8 steps outlined by the EHRC
The session is brought to you by Alex Welsh at Diversity HR and delivered by Anna Golawski of Stratus Coaching and Victoria Thomson of Ambridge HR.
With over 20 years' experience in HR, Victoria worked in companies that are household names such as L'Oreal, Readers Digest, and Cobra Beer. She broke away from the corporate scene and set up an independent HR consultancy providing HR advice and guidance to SMEs 7 years ago.
