Brittany Christiansen, MA, LPC-S, RPT
Brittany Christiansen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist, and holds a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University (now known as Houston Christian University). She has practicing as an active Christian Counselor since 2016. She provides counseling services to clients throughout the lifespan, beginning at age 2, and seeing children, adolescents, parents, and individual adults. Brittany specializes in the ethical integration of faith into the counseling process. She is passionate about creating a safe, clinically sound environment where clients can explore emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns and her approach respects each client’s individual beliefs and values while thoughtfully incorporating faith when desired. With extensive training and experience in play therapy, Brittany utilizes developmentally responsive techniques to help young children process emotions, build resilience, and grow. As a supervisor, she is also committed to mentoring and equipping other counselors in ethical practice, clinical efficacy, and counselor health.
Overview:
As mental health professionals, it is important to be comfortable with integrating client beliefs into case conceptualization, understanding, and the counseling process. This course is an overview of integrating faith into counseling, with specific emphasis on Christian foundations and techniques. This is a great presentation for professionals who want to ethically, effectively, and meaningfully incorporate faith into counseling.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the role of spirituality in counseling
2. Understand the spectrum between secular counseling, Christian counseling, and Biblical counseling
3. Describe ethical considerations when integrating faith into counseling, and explain how to ethically integrate faith into counseling practice appropriately
4. Apply the biopsychosocialspiritual model in case conceptualization
5. Explain the concept of Christian counseling, including aspects, the role of the counselor, and apply specific faith- based activities and interventions

This presentation will satsify LMFT/LPC board CEU requirements in the areas of "Ethics" and "Multicultural Issues." CEUs will be issued to all participants approximately 1 week after event. Signing in and out is required - you must be present for entirety of event.
