Antoni O’Breskey returns to Arthur's Blues and Jazz Club for a special evening of music, celebrating his work Irish Meets the Blues (1980), a musical journey where Blues meets its roots in the traditional Irish music, through surprisingly original compositions and re-elaborated versions of well known pieces.

Antoni O’Breskey is an Italian-born composer and pianist with Argentinian roots.
He introduced improvised-style piano into Irish and Flamenco music during the early 80's, blending it with blues and creating a unique jazz piano style.
In ‘80, he released ‘Irish Meet the Blues’, praised for its innovative fusion of Irish tradition and Blues.
In ‘88, with his work ‘Al Kamar’ he brought together Jazz, Irish music, Flamenco and the music from the Maghreb.
This project premiered in Paris at Theatre La Cigale, Le Cirque d’Hiver and l’Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris with special guests Manu Di Bangu and Jacques Higelin, and then toured worldwide.

For many years he was gathering together extraordinary musicians from all over the world, and recording more than 35 albums.
Amongst his collaborators are Ronnie Drew (The Dubliners), Antonio Carmona (Ketama), Mairtin O’Connor (De Dannan), José Seves (Inti-Illimani).
His contributions to Irish culture were celebrated in the National Concert Hall in Dublin in 2005, 2007, 2012.
He recently released ‘Samara’ ( 2020) and ‘Blessed Sadness’ (2021) to critical acclaim.
He’s currently working on a new album with Ultan O’Brien (Slow Moving Clouds).
