The Future is Now for Psychotherapy: Equipping clinicians to think psychologically about AI
About this Event
The Future is Now for Psychotherapy:
Equipping clinicians to think psychologically about AI, digital life and the changing therapeutic landscape.

Our current era is defined technological innovation that advances so rapidly the human psyche struggles to keep up. Already hyperconnected within social networks that are influenced by algorithms we barely understand, the sudden incorporation of AI into daily life adds yet another layer of complexity that feels quite overwhelming to many therapists.

These technologies influence our internal worlds, reshaping human behaviour, relationships, mental health, and even social cohesion. Psychotherapists, who stand at the vanguard of enhancing personal insight and preserving relational complexity, are beginning to recognise the imperative to engage with these advancing technologies with individuals and society at large.

In this talk Dr. Aaron Balick will cut through the noise to convey, in an accessible way, what therapists need to know.

Dr Aaron Balick is a psychotherapist, author, and academic specialising in the application of psychoanalytic and psychodynamic principles to contemporary culture, technology, and organisational life. He is an associate PhD supervisor at the Department for Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex, and the author of The Psychodynamics of Social Networking, which established him as a leading voice on the psychological impact of digital technologies.
