Anna Kalk Quartet is a dynamic ensemble formed in Bern, Switzerland.
Anna Kalk’s compositions are introspective explorations of life's darker sides, struggles, and bitterness, while also reflecting the warmth and comfort that emerge after life has been turned upside down.
Her music embraces contrasts. With angular rhythms and driving bass lines juxtaposed against spacious melodies and soft soundscapes, it illustrates the intensity felt throughout life’s changes.
Whether it’s the quake of a transition, the melancholy of an ending, or the uncertainty of a new beginning - Anna’s music acknowledges that life is ultimately bigger than all of us—a realisation that can be deeply comforting.
Anna Kalk is a guitarist from Estonia. Over the past six years, she has lived in Germany and Switzerland, performing in various formations, including Assonance, KBK, EDNA, Noblique, and Anemoon.
