About this Event
When January 2025 rolled around, the team at Greater Good Studio knew we had to do something. As our co-founder George Aye wrote, “I’ll be damned if I let this administration make me lose my sense of hope.” So we started by hosting an Angry Hour in Chicago. When it sold out in days, we knew we were onto something.
We’ve now hosted many Angry Hours across the country, and as it turns out, there are Pissed-Off Optimists everywhere! Angry Hour is a chance to find your people, connect with old friends and new, and build the community infrastructure to equip us all to keep going.
Each event has a nonprofit partner. We typically partner with smaller and locally-focused organizations, led by and serving BIPOC communities, and working towards equitable structural change. After event fees and expenses, proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the nonprofit partner. Past nonprofit partners have included Chicago Community J*il Support, The Innocence Project, The Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project, Go Austin | Vamos Austin, The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), Life After Hate, Enlace Chicago, Organized Communities Against Deportation (OCAD), Peace for DC, Asian Americans Advancing Justice—Chicago (AAAJ), Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), and The Difference Engine.
Whether you’re looking for collaborators, new opportunities, or just a space to vent and feel understood, Angry Hour™ is where you’ll find your people and leave energized to make a difference.

To ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we follow a Code of Conduct and ask attendees to respect our Photo Consent guidelines. See you there!
