About this Event
Woven brings together artists Lindsey Kircher and Shaquita Reed for an evening of casual artist conversation and hands-on textile learning, held in conjunction with Kircher’s solo exhibition Girl Talk at Oliva Gallery.
Throughout the evening, Kircher and Reed will discuss how textiles, fabric, pattern, and materiality enter into their individual artistic practices while guiding participants through beginner to advanced textile techniques in an open workshop setting. The conversation will unfold alongside the making process, allowing attendees to engage with both the artists’ ideas and the materials themselves.
Participants are welcome to bring their own textile projects to work on during the event, though materials will also be provided. All experience levels are encouraged to attend, from complete beginners to more advanced makers.
Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
