About this Event
Join us for a spectacular evening where music and visual art share the stage!
Three Houston artists - soprano Kinga Ferguson, violinist Dominika Dancewicz, and pianist Andrew Schneider - present a kaleidoscopic journey through Polish art song and instrumental music at the pivotal time in history - the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
From tender intimacy to shimmering landscapes, from folk dances to the exotic, dreamlike world of the Orient - the music from iconic Polish composers will be set against a backdrop of stunning paintings by Polish masters.
This program illuminates the soul of a nation finding its artistic voice which is rich in unique folklore, nature and customs, and it is full of curiosity and defiant spirit at one of history’s most turbulent crossroads: the transition from Romanticism to Modernism.
“Visions of Freedom” will be an evening of deep artistry, an encounter with a world full of timeless beauty and profound meaning. The event is generously supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Houston. 🇵🇱
