About this Event

Join us for another queer ART OPENING AT STRUT!

Friday, August 12th we are inviting you to help us celebrate the work of The Trish Collective! With Mama Celeste and Cash Monet! The Art Opening starts at 8 PM and will go till 10 PM.

This is an in-person event so we are limiting the number of folks that are allowed in the building, RSVP now before space runs out, only folks that RSVP on Eventbrite will be allowed to attend, we will be asking attendees to wear masks the entire time, and proof of vaccination cards will be needed at the door.

The Art program at Strut was founded the same year Magnet began back in 2003 and we've been exhibiting the work of a different queer artist each month ever since!

Trish was a collective of drag performers in the Bay Area who moonlighted as visual artists, working to contextualize drag in the world of fine art. Founded by Cash Monet and Mama Celeste in 2017, Trish’s work spanned a variety of mediums including their seminal zine, photography, video production, print and digital collages, PSAs on sexual health, and all types of new media. Trish featured visual art works by many Bay Area nightlife staples including Hollywood Texas, Kochina Rude, Mutha Chucka, Mary Vice, Dragula’s Erika Klash, and RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Rock M Sakura and collaborated with numerous others.

If you have any questions about Strut’s art openings or this event, please feel free to contact our community events manager Baruch Porras Hernandez at [email protected]

The building has three floors, and there is a stairwell with handrails and a wheelchair-accessible elevator. There are 26 steps from the lobby to the 2nd floor and 48 steps from the lobby to the 3rd floor. All our bathrooms are gender neutral and we have restrooms that are accessible to people who use wheelchairs.
