About this Event
We are pleased to welcome Helen Cammock and Andrew Jones here to Hatchards for an evening on public art in East London as they discuss Helen’s artwork on The Line and the new book:
The Line: Public Art in East London.
The Line has transformed East London’s urban landscape into a dynamic cultural corridor. Spanning nearly 8 kilometres (4.8 miles), the outdoor public art trail features monumental sculptures, intimate installations, and an evolving programme, offering a world-class contemporary art experience on a free and daily basis.
Celebrating The Line’s 10th anniversary, The Line: Public Art in East London replicates the unique experience of exploring its groundbreaking public art programme.
Helen is a London and Wales-based artist whose multi-disciplinary practice spans film, photography, print, text and performance. She was a joint winner of the Turner Prize in 2019 and winner of the 7th edition of the Max Mara Art prize for Women in 2017.
Andrew, a contributor to The Line: Public Art in East London, writes for the Financial Times and is the author of The London Club and The Buildings of Green Park.
We hope you will be able to join us!
