Join our resident artist Cheryl Ho for a performance created in response to "The Last Supper" by Tisna Sanjaya. This is Cheryl's second work-in-progress performance for the Resonates With Residency."System Error: The Death of the Inside" examines the signs that hint at the unseen and unheard. There is a cry that is often ignored, hiding in plain sight that accompanies the Death of one’s Inside.
This theatrical work moves through a collection of scenes that invites audiences to look beyond the frame and consider what is often unseen: the deep worries, buried pains and important questions often hidden away in hopes of conforming to societal norms. In doing so, the performance questions a life that moves so fast that we no longer can feel.
Performed in English and Singapore Sign Language with Open Captions.

About Resonates With Residency:
The Resonates With Residency is a residency programme that invites local performing artists to respond to works and themes from National Gallery Singapore’s long-term and special exhibitions.
Returning with a refreshed format, this cycle of the Resonates With Residency features a cohort of three artists, each commissioned to create a series of multi-disciplinary performances in response to the Gallery's permanent exhibition, "Between Declarations and Dreams: Art of Southeast Asia since the 19th Century." Over several months, the artists will draw inspiration from the exhibition's artworks and themes to ideate, innovate, and iterate towards two work-in-progress showcases, leading up to their final performances at Light To Night Singapore 2025.
With interdisciplinary collaboration at its core, the Resonates With Residency aims to establish deep and meaningful connections between artists, audiences and art from Singapore and the region.
