:: An Evening of Folk Song & Sentiment at BASE Anarchist Social Centre ::Join us at BASE for a special unplugged fundraiser session featuring three of our favourite alt-folk artists, all with roots steeped in reflection and storytelling.
The evening will be intimate and engaging, drawing everyone into a shared experience of song and freedom. We celebrate the power of our voices.
:: ANCIENT HOSTILITY (featuring members of Dawn Rayd (RIP) and All In Vain) ::
Ancient Hostility combine traditional folk singing with stories of modern day resistance and struggle, personal reflection and heartbreak, acoustic drone and a love of heavy metal.
Lyrics that move from fiercely political to soberingly honest are sung in close harmony, giving occasional space to contemplative drones on concertina and violin.
Finding harmony in contrast, relief in honesty and hope in the darkness, Ancient Hostility offer calming songs for turbulent times.
:: BABAR LUCK SPECIAL SOLO SET (ex-King Prawn) ::
Babar Luck is a captivating voice in the alt folk scene known for his heartfelt lyrics and commitment to social justice. Babar infuses his songs with a powerful sense of anarchy and empowerment. His music reflects a deep connection to the spirit of resistance and growth. Babar can be found in various incantations, including with his East End Trinity band. Tonight Babar will perform solo, invoking the spirit of alt-folk and its power to inspire change.
:: LOAM ::
Brand new female folk duo from Bristol serving gorgeous harmonies, intricate melodies and poignant storytelling. Drawing inspiration from nature and human experience, their songs bring themes of connection, resilience, and beauty.
