Celebrate Earth Month and enjoy beautiful views with our plogging cleanup along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail! Plogging is the practice of cleaning up litter while jogging (though jogging is not required to participate). We are partnering with Northeast Track Club to include a cleanup in their 7-mile run. Their run will begin at the RFK Fields lots (by the entrance to Kingman Island), and make its way up and back to the Anacostia Community Boathouse. We will be plogging the final 2-mile stretch between Anacostia Community Boat House (picking up equipment at 10am) and Kingman Island (sorting and disposal). You are welcome to run the full 7 miles with NE Track Club, or join us for the cleanup only!
Schedule:
9:00 AM – Meet at RFK lots for a 7-mile run
10:00 AM – Meet at Anacostia Community Boathouse for cleanup
10:05 AM – 2-mile plogging begins!
Rain or Shine. All supplies provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing you can get dirty that will protect you from the brush.
