About this Event
All Voices Bright: A Global Tapestry of Song
Join us this winter as we raise our voices in a program that celebrates the beauty of human connection through music from around the world.
Anchoring the concert are selected excerpts from Benjamin Britten’s beloved Ceremony of Carols — a shimmering masterpiece for treble voices and harp that captures both mystery and joy. Alongside Britten’s work, you’ll hear a festive setting of the Sephardic folksong “Mi Zeh Y’Meleil,” the lively Renaissance villancico “Riu, Riu, Chiu,” and a powerful South African arrangement of Handel’s “And the Glory of the Lord” by our dear friend Bongani Magatyana.
Together, these pieces weave a rich tapestry of languages, rhythms, and traditions — reminding us that in every culture and every season, music brings people closer. This concert is about unity, humanity, and the joy of singing together.
