Join me for a new 6-week bellydance / raqs sharqi course running from 24 June 2026 to 29 July 2026.
Suitable for beginners and beginner/intermediate dancers, this course offers a welcoming and supportive space to explore the foundations of bellydance while discovering different music genres from the SWANA region.
Throughout the course, you will learn:
- posture and flow
- undulations
- hip isolations
- shimmies
- travelling steps
- improvisation basics
No previous dance experience is required. Whether this is your first time trying bellydance or you already have some experience, you will find what you are looking for.
Alongside movement training, I also share historical and cultural context about bellydance and its practice across the region, creating a deeper connection to the music, movement, and traditions.
Bellydance is widely appreciated for its physical and mental wellbeing benefits. Many of my students say the classes help lift their mood, reduce stress, and build confidence — while having fun in a joyful and inclusive environment.
Classes take place every Wednesday at 7pm at ArtsHouse London (previously known as Academy Mews Studios).
Please arrive at least 5–10 minutes early to settle in before class begins.
Wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in and bring a bottle of water. Hip scarves/belts will be provided during class.
