Eastport Arts Center will offer an all ages printmaking workshop, 1-3 pm, Saturday, March 15. Engaging instructor Sara Myrick will lead attendees in the creation of custom collograph prints using a variety of craft materials. Multiple project ideas will be available to inspire participants, who’ll use Myrick’s portable printing press to run their prints.The session is designed for students of all ages; family groups welcome; all materials included. Students age 8 and under should have an adult companion/collaborator. Fees are $20/adult; $10/youth or for a team of adult and child. A sliding fee scale (pay what you can) is available by request; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Space is limited and registration, by email to [email protected] or via the EAC site, is requested.
Sara Myrick teaches art for K-12 students in the Eastport schools, and for college students at Washington County Community College. She is owner of Coastal Whims, an art business celebrating her love of nature and handcrafting. Her widely varied artistic practice has included special focus on up-cycling, print-making and jewelry. In addition to working in the schools, she leads many workshops at EAC, Eastport’s Peavey Library and the Lubec Community Outreach Center.
