Get ready to jump, jive, and feel the joy with "Alive and Kicking," the acclaimed documentary celebrating the vibrant world of swing dance. From its historic roots to its thriving global community today, the film captures the cathartic power and infectious spirit at the heart of swing culture. Following both professionals and passionate enthusiasts, "Alive and Kicking" reveals how this high-energy art form becomes a powerful pursuit of happiness, and why its rhythm continues to resonate across generations. A previous audience favorite at SFDFF, we’re thrilled to bring this crowd-pleaser back to the big screen. The evening doesn’t stop when the credits roll. Before the film, join us for a special introduction from director Susan Glatzer, who will be in attendance for a Q&A. Then, experience a live, onstage performance by Jo Hoffberg followed by dancers from Cat's Corner that brings the film’s exuberance to life. The evening continues with post-screening social dancing in the lobby, open to all attendees.
