About this Event

"Matthew Shiel shone" (⭐⭐⭐⭐ThisWeek Culture)

Sink into your seat with a complimentary hot chocolate as award-winning pianist Matthew Shiel performs favourite Hollywood film music including: Schindler's List, Imperial March (from Star Wars) and Hedwig's Theme (from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) by John Williams and Prelude and M**der (from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho) by Bernard Herrmann - performed by atmospheric candlelight in our special candlelit chapel setting.

And for an unforgettable grand finale, Matthew Shiel will transport you back in time to the golden era of Hollywood to experience the magic of the silent screen. During the silent film era (1890 -1930) - a cinema pianist was expected to improvise music to accompany the film. Tonight, in keeping with silent cinema traditions, Matthew Shiel will provide a film score to Charlie Chaplin's "Police" (1916) and "A Trip to the Moon" (1902). "A Trip to the Moon" is the first science fiction film ever made and one of the most influential films in cinema history.

These candlelit concert experiences are a fun and entertaining way to wind down after a busy week - ticket includes a complimentary hot chocolate to enhance the experience.

This event is a unique opportunity to celebrate the musical genius of Hollywood cinema and relive the magic of silent cinematography. Grab your friends and family and join us for an unforgettable evening filled with laughter and entertainment!
