Το εργαστήριο αυτό προσφέρει μια πλούσια και καθηλωτική εμπειρία της χαρακτηριστικής κινητικής γλώσσας της Akram Khan Company και της παγκοσμίου φήμης προσέγγισής της στην αφήγηση. Κατά τη διάρκεια τεσσάρων ημερών, οι συμμετέχοντες θα μάθουν κομμάτια από το έργο “Jungle Book reimagined”, εξερευνώντας μια σειρά από κινητικές ποιότητες εμπνευσμένες από τα ζώα, ενώ παράλληλα θα αναπτύξουν εργαλεία για να συνδέσουν το ένστικτο, τη φαντασία και τη σωματικότητα.

Join Akram Khan Company dancer Elpida Skourou for a workshop that delves into the creative practices and repertoire of the company. This workshop offers a rich and immersive experience of Akram Khan Company’s distinctive movement language and world-renowned storytelling approach. Over four days, participants will learn repertoire from Jungle Book reimagined, exploring a range of animal-inspired movement qualities while developing tools to connect instinct, imagination and physicality.

Short Bio:
Elpida Skourou, born and raised in Athens, embarked on her dance journey at age 4 with ballet and contemporary dance. Exploring diverse genres like hip hop and Latin during her teenage years, she channeled her passion into formal education and graduated from the Greek National School of Dance in 2018. Notable performances include Antony Lachky’s work with the Hellenic Dance Company “Special Gala”. Delving deeper, she became a certified Pilates Teacher. Her professional career commenced at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, featuring in Christos Papadopoulos’ Exercise 27. Joining Akram Khan Company in 2019, she contributed to Father: Vision of The Floating World in Bangladesh and appeared in the Netflix series MOVE. As Assistant Choreographer and dancer, Elpida worked with RootlessRoot in collaboration with the Greek National Opera for the Finality project in 2021. From 2020 to 2022, she toured globally with Outwitting the Devil, gracing historical theatres such as the Herodes Atticus in Athens. She recently completed a worldwide tour with Jungle Book Reimagined (2023-2025) and is now part of Akram Khan’s last touring production, Thikra: Night of Remembering. Alongside her artistic journey, Elpida, driven by a deep interest in personal growth and understanding the world around her, has chosen to study Psychology at the European University of Cyprus to further enrich and expand her perspective.
