Afternoon Tea with a Queen

On Saturday 27th June, the Food & Drink Studio will be transformed for a delightfully irreverent take on one of Fortnum’s most cherished traditions. Afternoon tea has long been synonymous with the elegance of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon — precise, polished, and quintessentially British — but on this occasion, we’re turning up the volume, adding a flourish of sequins, and inviting some fabulous mischief to the table.

'Afternoon Tea with a Queen' is not your usual affair. At its heart is Pasty, the outrageously charismatic alter ego of performer Jake Grover, best known for appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Pasty is a master of theatricality and wit, serving up a heady mix of glamour and razor-sharp humour. With a background in cabaret and live comedy, she brings an infectious energy that blurs the line between stage and audience, ensuring every guest feels part of the spectacle.

Expect impeccable lip-syncs, a dazzling costume change and just the right amount of naughtiness — delivered with the confidence and polish of a seasoned drag artist.

As Pasty takes centre stage, guests will settle in with a beautifully prepared afternoon tea, blending the likes of classic scones and finger sandwiches with inuendo-ridden sausage rolls and tarts.

The event is open to all, whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or simply up for a fun afternoon out — just be aware the tone can be a little cheeky at times.
