FEEL THE RHYTHM. MOVE YOUR BODY
*********
AFRICAN DANCE & DRUMMING AT THE BUTTON FACTORY
Explore what African rhythms give to us: connect with your body, raise your energy level, feel the beat of mother earth, dance and drum in community, be free and above all: celebrate life! In Afro connection dance and drumming, we explore the concepts of identity, creativity and authenticity through music and movement inspired by traditional West African rhythms. We feel the beat of the drums in our body, becoming one, connecting with our ancestral memory, coming back to roots and offering our dance as a celebration of communion with mother earth.

Meet Dyames
Dyames started his musical journey at a young age, acquiring drumkit skills from his sister and subsequently performing with several bands in the Philippines. His relocation to New Zealand fostered his passion for djembe. Dyames facilitates teaching workshops and weekly community drumming classes and also performs with Kra Koto Kra. On top of his weekly classes, Dyames is currently busy building and repairing djembes under Djembe Indayog, which he established in 2020.
