Focus is on turbo-charging your story repertoire, and creating deeper connections with your audience.
About this Event

“When you write a memory, it isn’t in the past anyway. It’s alive right now.” ― Natalie Goldberg

This advanced-level story exploration and creation class builds upon the skills taught in the Unexpected Productions Creative Storytelling course. Our goal is to help you expand your story repertoire, strengthen your connection with your audience, and enhance your performance skills. Throughout the course, we will delve into narrative development, audience rapport, themes, and your personal storytelling journey. We will explore how to develop stories by unpacking your personal histories and memories, including those that you may have been hesitant to share. Each class will focus on two concepts, one practical (sensory work and presentation) and one more esoteric (vulnerability, empathy, and listening). With a limited class size of 12, all students can share their work and receive feedback. Participation is required, and we look forward to helping you expand your storytelling skills on a deeper and more substantial level.

Dates: 6 Saturdays. 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, starting Sept 16, 2023

NOTE: Attendance at the first session of your course is mandatory as it sets the agenda for the entire quarter. If you think you will have to miss the first class, please consider registering for the next time the class is offered.
