COURSE PROGRAM
KEY SPEAKER AND DIRECTOR
Prof. Luigi P. Badano, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC
Prof. Badano is a Full Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Milano Bicocca, Director of the Multimodality Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory, and former President of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. With over 367 peer-reviewed publications, Prof. Badano is a global leader in cardiovascular imaging and echocardiography.
Dr. Madalina Garbi, MD, MA, FRCP
Dr. Garbi is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Papworth Hospital, specializing in echocardiography and heart valve disease. She is the current President of the British Heart Valve Society and has contributed to numerous international guidelines, papers, and recommendations.
Aim of the course:
This course aims to offer a comprehensive theoretical and practical approach to speckle-tracking and three-dimensional echocardiography to practitioners who have a full knowledge of the technique and clinical applications.
Created by course directors Luigi Badano and Madalina Garbi the course will focus on the practical how-to techniques of both conventional and advanced Strain, & 3D echocardiography to assess the structures of the right heart. Improved software packages have resulted in increasing clinical application of these techniques, with 3D and Strain included as part of the routine echocardiographic examination. A strong emphasis will be placed on practical aspects of data acquisition from models in the echo lab, and analysis of raw datasets on dedicated workstations.
