Addressing Gun Violence Student Art Exhibit
Join us for the Addressing Gun Violence Student Art Exhibit, a powerful student-led exhibition showcasing creative expressions, research, and advocacy on the urgent issue of gun violence.
150 eighth-grade students from Lighthouse and Lodestar Public Charter Schools in East Oakland have been studying gun violence prevention across their humanities, math, science, and art classes in collaboration with Visionioning Beyond Violence. They are ready to have their voices heard in our community.
What to Expect:
🔹 Student-Created Art – Artwork reflecting personal experiences, hopes, and solutions for a safer future.
🔹 Math & Data Projects – Analysis of gun violence trends, statistics, and policy impacts.
🔹 Humanities & Storytelling Pieces – Animated student reflections, spoken word, and narratives about gun violence prevention.
🔹 Community Engagement – Connect with students, educators, and local organizations working toward positive change.
🔹 Live Discussions & Guided Tours – Learn firsthand from students about their creative process and research.
