Acting for Improvisers
In our 6-week Acting for Improvisers class, you’ll dive into acting techniques that bring more depth, emotion, and authenticity to your improv. Each week builds on the last, giving you practical tools to make your performances more compelling.
Class Experience:
Each week is hands-on and interactive, blending acting exercises with improv games to reinforce skills in a fun, supportive environment. You’ll explore emotional depth, physicality, voice work, and scene dynamics while getting personalized feedback to help you grow as a performer.
What You Will Learn:
- Acting techiniques for Improvisers
- Emotional connection & character development
- Character status, stakes and intention
- Balancing spontaneity with authentic performances
- Applying acting techniques to long-form/short-form improv
By the end of the class, you’ll have a toolkit of acting skills to make your improv more grounded and believable.

Class Requirements
- This class is appropriate for participants of all levels and from various performance fields; anyone can benefit from this class. Whether you are a seasoned performer or just starting out.
What you'll learn
- Acting for Improvisers is designed to strengthen your improv skills by incorporating acting techniques. Through focused work on voice, movement, intention, and emotions, you'll create more engaging scenes and develop deeper connections between yourself, your character and your scene partner.

- Week 2: Emotional Connection – Tap into real emotions to create more believable characters and scenes.
- Week 3: Character Development – Build unique, well-rounded characters using body, voice, and objectives.
- Week 4: Scene Work & Stakes – Bring depth to your scenes by raising the stakes and making stronger choices.
- Week 5: Exploring Relationships – Focus on authentic connections and interactions between characters.
- Week 6: Performance Practice & Feedback – Apply everything in a final showcase, with constructive feedback to help you grow.
- Performance-this class ends in a final showcase for family and friends to enjoy.
