The next ACGN event will be an interactive discussion on the latest trends and issues to be aware of, focusing on the key role governance teams play in a cyber security incident. Rebecca Lee and Rhiannon Webster, experts from Ashurst will be joined by Samantha Coughlan (Group IT Director of Kier Group plc) and Kate Brader (Senior Managing Director, Head of Crisis, EMEA Strategic Communications, FTI Consulting). The event will be moderated by Kathy Cong (ACGN Committee member).

A seasoned executive and technologist, she brings a proven track record of managing high-profile, sensitive matters - including cyber breaches, regulatory disputes, and large-scale technology and data analytics projects, where her work has often been subject to external scrutiny by clients, lawyers, regulatory authorities, and the press.

Rhiannon Webster has 20 years' experience advising on information law both in the UK and on international projects. She advises on a full range of data protection issues to a wide range of clients including financial services companies. She offers strategic commercial advice on data protection compliance obligations including in the context of cyber readiness and response.

Samantha Coughlan is the Group IT Director at Kier Group plc, where she leads the organisation’s technology strategy and governance across its UK operations. Sam plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation, IT security, and service delivery for the Group’s diverse business functions.
With extensive experience in IT leadership, Samantha oversees critical initiatives including cyber security readiness, disaster recovery, and the integration of advanced technology solutions to strengthen Kier’s operational resilience. She regularly engages with the Board and senior leadership on risk management and governance matters, ensuring robust IT frameworks and compliance standards are maintained. Her leadership extends to managing relationships with key technology partners and steering IT governance forums, reinforcing Kier’s commitment to innovation and secure operations.

Kate Brader is Senior Managing Director, Head of Crisis, EMEA Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting. Kate is a crisis communications and crisis management specialist with deep expertise and experience in managing high profile live incidents.
Kate's work has included responding to the catastrophic NotPetya cyber-attack; high-profile discrimination issues involving senior individuals; and environmental activism.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Kate developed and lead the 'Live Response' service offering and capability at Deloitte. She joined Deloitte as part of the acquisition of her firm Regester Larkin, where she established and ran its Americas business, based in Houston, Texas.

Kathy Cong is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) with over 20 years’ experience in corporate governance. She has held senior leadership roles including Group Company Secretary at Equiniti Group plc, and Managing Director of both Prism Cosec and Company Matters (now part of MUFG Corporate Markets), two specialist governance advisory businesses. In these roles, Kathy led and developed large, multidisciplinary teams, with a strong focus on mentoring governance professionals, while advising premium-listed and regulated organisations on corporate governance, risk management, controls and board effectiveness.
Kathy is also a trustee of a multi-academy trust, bringing additional perspective on governance and oversight in the education sector. She migrated to the UK from Vietnam at a young age, and is of Vietnamese and Chinese heritage.
