About the workshop
I loved this session with On Voice. It was very well-organised, informative, and active for us participants! I hope that Spotlight will have future webinars with Becca and Frankie!
No matter how fluent, learning an accent in a language other than your mother tongue can be tricky. Unsurprising as many of the common reference points are all based on English (and often, RP!). Our research-led approach to learning accents is made specifically with S.E.A.L actors in mind. It de-centres English and uses more universal tools to explore new sounds, while keeping it physical, practical and accessible.
About Workshop Leader:
On Voice is a London-based collective of voice teachers with a common aim - to bring inclusive voice, speech and accent work to our community.
We offer accessible, ethical, and research-led accent and speech sessions for actors and other professionals. We work with both native English speakers and speakers of English as an additional language. It’s important to us that we empower our clients to think about this training as an expansion of their toolkit for their profession rather than as a "correction" of their way of speaking.
All of our coaches hold a MA in Voice Studies: Teaching and Coaching from the renowned Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

This event is held in Spotlight's new spaces at 16 Garrick Street. The rooms are accessible from street level with a lift from the ground floor to the 3rd floor.
