Join Maggie Gallagher and your fellow Catholic creatives for an afternoon that will help us spiritually prepare for the upcoming 500th anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s appearance in 1531, the birthday of Christianity in the Americas.
+The Traditional Latin Mass will be sung at 11:30 AM, celebrated by Father Joseph Illo.
+Fellowship and food will be available after the Mass.
+At 1:30, we will read "Guadalupe: The Miracle Play" together, adapted from the oldest written account of Our Lady of Guadalupe's Appearance, the Nican Mopohua, originally written in Nahautl, the Aztec langauge Our Lady spoke to San Juan Diego.
+Hear and discuss more about what Our Lady's Appearance means as the birthday of Christianity in the Americas
+Learn how you can enthrone an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in your home as part of ProjectGuadalupe2031.org.
+Chant together the new Litany to Our Lady of Guadalupe from renowned poet James Matthew Wilson, which has been approved for private use by Archbishop Cordileone.
+At 5:00 pm join me and other Benedict XVI Institute friends for a homecooked meal, some wine, cheese and dessert--food fun and fellowship across the street from Star of the Sea in the Holy Family Convent (8th and Geary). Bring a new friend too if you can.
This afternoon for Artists and Art Lovers is part of the 5th annual Marian art exhibition from Star of the Sea church and the Stella Maris Academy-SF.
