We're Hosting a live gig showcasing the Future of Irish Music w/ Hennessy on Thursday, 28th May at the Sugar Club
About this Event

It’s the culmination of District’s Future Of Irish Music series with Hennessy, where we select Irish artists who are going to be the next generation of homegrown talent. This time you’ll be able to catch the entire FOIM class of 2026 under one roof. On 28 May, six acts are taking over The Sugar Club to show you what Ireland’s music world has coming. There’ll be complimentary Hennessy Ginger for the first 200 through the door and an opportunity to get your OG card for these up and coming artists.
Sei Green
Welcome to the world of Sei Green. Serene sounds from members Ellen and Adam centre around psychedelia, basslines and reverb-filled vocals. As that sun starts to peek out of the clouds, we truly couldn’t think of a better group to have fill your ears. Only two singles in and the guys are making waves.
SPOOKLET
A SPOOKLET show is a multi-sensory journey. Live electronic playback, combined with her ethereal vocals, created a certain ambience which just can’t be replicated. Her use of French and English adds a depth which is only exacerbated by the breaks, chops and basslines within her production.
The Wran
These lads are some of the faces behind a new generation of Irish traditional and folk appreciation. These four brothers have developed their sound, pulling from years of Irish music and building on it with their own work. It’s the type of music that you feel in your core and representative of how the Ireland’s musical future and past are intertwined.
d_abdu
d_abdu has shown his pedigree with his former outfit bricknasty. Building on his past work, his solo outfit d\-abdu pulls on a soft sound and introspective tone. It’s exciting times to see an already flourishing artist take the next step.
Lil Skag
How can you not love Lil Skag. From Enniscorthy to the world, Lil Skag has spread his whimsy to audiences far and wide. You never know whether to laugh or clap after this lad’s bars. We’ve seen him shut it down at Irish festivals and at headliner shows, now time for the District stage. YURT.
BUKKY
Repping Cork for the class of 2026, we were blown away by Bukky’s mix between indie and RnB. An artist with such gorgeous production is one thing. However, combine this with such fantastic vocalism and you’ve got a seriously exciting artist. Tracks like ‘WEST’ and ‘SWEAT’ evoke sounds similar to King Krule or Homeshake so if that’s your bag then tap in.
Doors at 7pm, on time arrivals appreciated.
