East River Legal Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering free civil legal aid in Eastern South Dakota, is pleased to announce a fundraising event, A Night at the Movies. This year’s event will be held on November 3, 2025 at 7:00pm at The State Theater in Sioux Falls, SD.
A Night at the Movies will feature a screening of, "Nomadland." All proceeds from the event will support East River Legal Services mission of, "Advancing equal access to justice for our most vulnerable citizens."
Tickets for A Night at the Movies are $10.00 per ticket and can be purchased online through Eventbrite or with cash at the door.
East River Legal Services (ERLS) exists to better the lives of the over 56,000 people living in poverty in Eastern South Dakota. We offer free legal services to our communities Veterans, older Americans (60+), people with disabilities, victims of violence, and all those facing financial insecurity. We are committed to the belief that being poor or at risk does not make you less, that equal access to our courts is an essential part of justice, and equal justice is a universal right.
East River Legal Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering free civil legal aid in eastern South Dakota. Founded in 1970, the organization has processed over 3,000 applications for services in 2024 and is on track to process even more applications in 2025.
