About this Event
Description
Much more than forest bathing, a Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE) asks us to acknowledge the history of the land we stand on before guiding us through a variety of ways to get to know it better, directly, through our senses. After short introductions, we’ll move through a series of gentle warmups to prepare our bodies for movement, tune in to our breath, and begin walking with awareness. We’ll start to “see” things in the outdoors we never realized were there all along! Then we'll find sitting spots for nature meditation, journaling, and a community sharing practice that will allow us to integrate and absorb our experiences. We’ll head back to our everyday lives with feelings of gratitude and peace, and a desire to make this a regular practice.
We'll be walking along a trail but we won’t be breaking a sweat—just remember to dress for the weather. Our closing share time is completely optional. Bring your journal or sketchbook, some water, something to sit on, and your willingness to widen your recognition of the natural world. This experience is designed for those 14 and older.
