Join A Hop and A Skip textiles for a creative sewing workshop where participants will upcycle vintage teatowels into a cute, fully lined bumbag. Suitable for a range of skill levels, with two sessions; the beginner workshop guides participants step by step through creating a simple bum bag with a zip opening and adjustable strap. Making it perfect for those new to sewing. The intermediate workshop; expands on these skills with more polished finishing techniques and advanced construction methods, including darts, tucks, curved seams and creating your own rouleau. with plenty of guidance along the way, this workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to explore sustainable sewing while creating a unique handmade acessory.
Who should attend?
Best for people over 14, as theres a few fiddly things little hands might struggle with.
What's included?
Materials provided include pre-cut fabric, zippers and closures.
What should I bring and wear?
Participants will need to bring their own sewing machine to use on the day, GΓΌtermann or Rasant thread, scissors, pins and other basic sewing supplies, Laura will also bring extra thread and plenty of spare supplies in case anyone forgets or doesnβt have something.

A hop and a skip primarily works with reclaimed and vintage fabrics, they transform preloved materials into functional one of a kind pieces while encouraging others to explore sewing in a more conscious way. Through workshops and community led sessions, they aim to make textile craft approachable, fun and accessible for all skill levels.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:
Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached - this decision is made between 2-7 days before the workshop date so don't delay in buying your ticket! In the event of the workshop being cancelled by artisan, participants will be refunded in full and as soon as possible.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to two weeks prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within two weeks of the workshop commencing will not be refunded. Refunds are to be processed by the attendee through Humanitix.
Workshop Transfer Policy:
You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement 24 hours prior to the workshop in writing to [email protected].
