About this Event
Restorative Retreat
Four hours. Just for you.
A unhurried morning where your only job is to arrive — and slowly, let go.
We'll move through the time together gently. We start with a grounding group activity — making a mandala from lentils or working with clay — something slow and tactile that brings your hands and your attention into the same place. From there, breathwork to shift your nervous system out of the gear it's probably been stuck in all week. If you want, there's access to cold and sauna. If you don't, there's free time. To sit. To do nothing. To remember what that feels like.
The afternoon closes with a full restorative yoga practice held under live sound — bowls, resonance, the kind of sound that moves through the body rather than just the ears. And then a small closing ritual to bring you back to yourself before you step back into your life. You'll leave feeling like something has— shifted. Lighter. More yourself.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is designed to give you a period of complete mental and physical relaxation. Rather than move quickly from one pose to the next (like your traditional vinyasa flow) or through a series of repetitive motions (like sun salutations), restorative yoga sessions are built around fewer yoga poses that you hold for five to 10 minutes at a time or longer. The goal is to deepen your stretch, ease your mind and sink into your body while you focus on your breath.
Why Restorative yoga?
- A chance to notice your internal workings
- Gives you deeper access to your interior life and supports emotional balance
- When we practice restorative.. we are teaching out body to release contraction.. to feel safe.. to come into. Deep states of rest that support repair rejuvenation and resilience
- It is an important self care strategy that supports physical psychological emotional and spiritual health
- It is ideal for those times we feel depleted overwhelmed or are receiving from a physical or psychological injury
- It is an invitation to intimacy with oneself
