A Deeper Vision | Alt Text + Art is a collaborative accessibility workshop exploring how we describe visual art for audiences navigating the digital world through screen readers and alternative forms of access. Design researcher, Abigale Stangl will share ideas and research around accessibility, sensory design, and alt text practices, including approaches that challenge “one-size-fits-all” image descriptions. Through guided exercises participants will experiment with writing alt text that moves beyond utility to consider atmosphere, emotion, artistic context, and shared interpretation.
Hosted by the Peachtree Library Branch and facilitated by the Public Art Futures Lab with support from Fulton County and LostintheLetters, this workshop welcomes artists, writers, designers, educators, curators, students, and anyone interested in accessibility and communication through art.
This is an exercise-focused gathering centered on conversation, experimentation, and collective thinking. Laptops are encouraged but not required.
