A Broader Green: An Earth Day Service Project
In its eighth year, A Broader Green day of service — a partnership between Temple Alumni and the North Broad Renaissance — continues its tradition of celebrating Earth Day with purpose and pride. This year, the focus turns to beautifying the corridor ahead of 2026 with vibrant red, white, and blue flowers, public art projects, and community engagement activities. The event highlights the start of the landscaping season, raises awareness about NBR’s maintenance and beautification initiatives, and supports ongoing efforts to enhance the health, beauty, and quality of life along North Broad Street. Through education and hands-on service, volunteers will help transform the corridor into a colorful and welcoming gateway for the year ahead.
By registering and attending I agree that, for myself or my child if under 18 years of age, and for my heirs, executors and administrators and any other person claiming for me or on my behalf, hereby relinquish any and all rights to sue, and waive and release any and all claims for damages, against the Avenue North Renaissance (d.b.a. North Broad Renaissance), including its departments, commissions, boards, officers, employees or agents (collectively the "NBR"); and all sponsors, "partner organizations" or other organizations participating in any community outreach efforts, programs, events, etc. (the "Event") and their respective employees, agents, officers, directors, members, successors, and assigns, for any and all types of economic loss or injury to person or property, including crippling or catastrophic injury or death, however, wherever, or whenever it may occur, as a result of my or my child’s participation in the Event. This relinquishment of all rights to sue, and release and waiver of all claims, for damages, applies regardless of whether the loss or injury to person or property was caused by negligence, defective or dangerous conditions of vehicles, personal or real property, trees, traffic controls and street lighting, streets and sidewalks and utility service facilities, strict product liability, breach of warranty or breach of contract, willful misconduct of any person or any other theory of liability.
WARNING
By signing this document, I assume and accept all risks in connection with my, my students’ or child’s participation in the Event for any harm, injury, loss or damage that I or my child may suffer or sustain as a participant, whether such risks are foreseen or unforeseen, predictable or unpredictable, discussed or unstated, inherent or otherwise. I understand and acknowledge that the Event will take place in various environments, places and neighborhoods, such as recreation fields or centers, parks, streets or other roadways, and involve proximity and exposure to and/or touching of trash, litter and other known or unknown substances, as to which it is impossible to foresee or predict specific risks or dangerous conditions and to have taken precautionary measures.
PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE
Furthermore, I hereby grant full permission and authorization to use my, my child’s, or my student’s, name, voice, and/or picture or image in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion, blog, website posting, brochure, media publicity, and/or catalogue or other similar publication, or any other account of the Event in any media for any purposes whatsoever. I understand that any photographs or videotape or audiotape taken of me or my child during the Event is the property of the NBR and may be published and used in any media and/or manner, in addition to or in lieu of my student’s or ward's name and/or image, to illustrate, promote, and advertise the Event, or the NBR.
