About this Event
Students (ages 13-20) will learn how to put drawing and writing together into self-published comics or zines (an accessible, low-cost medium for storytelling and self-expression). Students will also grow their experience with long-term creative project planning.
The culmination of this program will involve youth participants exhibiting their books at the foundry10 table at Short Run Comix & Arts Festival on Nov. 4th, 2023.
Short Run will provide space for up to 15 students in an air-controlled, 1st floor accessible space with most all basic supplies provided (pencils, pens, erasers, paper, access to photocopier, collage materials, scissors, glue sticks, etc). Just show up with your enthusiasm and your stories!
This workshop series is facilitated by Short Run Seattle, and supported by foundry10.
