About this Event
FREE - All Ages Celebration!
Hosted by Ethical NYC and LaborArts, with collaborating support from Project PeaceLights, Writopia Lab and the Ghandi King Sesson For Non-Violence.
At age 15 in Montgomery, Alabama, Claudette Colvin refused to move to the back of a bus. Her determination and courage inspired Rosa Parks’ famous protest against bus segregation just nine months later.
At age 92, lifelong activist Evie Rich wrote a memoir about her adventures in education and civil rights.
The program features stories about Colvin, remarks from Rich, and a chance for intergenerational discussions about who inspires us – young and old.
Refreshments served.
