41Drawings Workshop @ The Showroom Gallery LONDON
29/06/2024 3.30pm till 5.30pm
Each person is given a small A6 sketchbook and a stick of graphite. The objective of the workshop is to walk through the free exhibition at The Showroom Gallery and each make 41 drawings in 2 hours.
We will be visiting the ‘Coalescence: Sometime Later’ exhibition:
The Showroom presents the latest site-responsive iteration of Coalesce, an evolving exhibition initiated by curator Paul O’Neill in 2003/4 at London Print Studio Gallery in collaboration with artists Jaime Gili, Eduardo Padilha and Kathrin Böhm.
Coalescence: Sometime Later reflects upon, extends and expands the spatio-temporality of the exhibition-form as a work-in-progress without a linear narrative nor conclusive statement. Here, exhibition-making is posited as a co-productive practice where an accumulation of agencies, actors and actions transform the gallery into an exhibition as a public stage for possible encounters.
There will be lots of objects/artworks and starting points for conversation and inspiration to make some drawings. All abilities welcome and this workshop is free to access.
This specific session is hosted by Nima @nima.shafiani who works as an artist in today's London.
We will meet as a group at the main entrance of The Showroom Gallery at 3.15pm and the session starts at 3.30pm.
