Peak Development Group has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7193 and LPCA of GA. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Peak Development Group is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.


Peak Development specializes in training supervisors who are interested in developing the next generation of Master Therapists. Our upcoming 4-day certification summit will offer all the training hours and complete curriculum needed to achieve the Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) credential in the state of Georgia.



Day 1- (8 hrs.)-Descriptions and Objectives
History of Supervision (1 hr.)

This workshop covers the fundamental principles of clinical supervision. To assist supervisors in understanding the scope of supervision, this workshop lays the foundation in defining what clinical supervision is as it has evolved throughout history.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify important developments in the history of clinical supervision

2. Define clinical supervision

3. Describe important tenets of clinical supervision



Models and Methods of Supervision (3hrs.)

This workshop expands upon the knowledge of various theoretical models (e.g., discrimination, developmental, integrative) of supervision and focuses on the application of techniques necessary in the supervision process. Participants will engage in role play and group discussion with constructive feedback in order to apply supervisory skills.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explore several of the most widely used models of supervision

2. Discover how to select the model that best fits your supervisory process

3. Learn how to apply theory to guide and help supervisees conceptualize cases



Masterpiece Model and Supervision Planning (3 hrs.)

This workshop will take a comprehensive approach to clinical supervision. Focusing on both the “big picture” and “small picture” aspects of supervision, participants can expect to learn more about developing their supervisory style after an in-depth training in the Masterpiece Model of Supervision. Expect engaging discussion and applied activities to supplement theoretical knowledge.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify the philosophy and principles of the Masterpiece model of clinical supervision

2. Understand and analyze the crucial supervision tools to develop master therapists

3. Engage in applied activities for each area of the model in order to integrate theory and practice



Variables of Supervision-Part 1 (1 hr.)

This workshop examines the building blocks of effective supervision. This workshop focuses on the interpersonal aspects of clinical supervision and introduces supervisors to the art and science of supervision. It begins with a detailed look at the supervisory relationship and qualities of a Master Supervisor. It also explores the roles and responsibilities in supervision. This workshop will utilize current research, readings, and use of case studies and examples. The emphasis will be on core values of supervision while encouraging the creativity and independence of developing supervisors.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify factors that can hinder and those that can help the supervision process

2. Discuss beginning supervisor or supervisee mistakes and how to repair them

3. List the various roles and responsibilities of a supervisor



Day 2- (8 hrs.)-Descriptions and Objectives
Evaluation in Supervision (1 hr.)

This workshop examines various approaches to evaluation in clinical supervision. It also looks at the types of documentation needed for supervisors to keep good clinical notes about the progress of his/her supervisees. The supervision process is two-fold and demonstrates how supervisees can be more engaged in determining the supervisory experience by providing feedback to their supervisors.

1. Discuss types of evaluation for supervisor and supervisee throughout the supervision process

2. Identify appropriate evaluation forms and discuss frequency of evaluations

3. Apply evaluative skills with the use of forms



Supervision Toolkit - (1 hr.)

This workshop covers all the required forms and documents that clinical supervisors should keep handy throughout the supervision process. The toolkit is described in detail so that supervisors can organize their paperwork.

Learning Objectives:

1. Ascertain the forms needed for proper documentation in clinical supervision

2. Identify important websites where official forms can be downloaded

3. Practice using forms from the supervision toolkit for efficient organization



Board Rules and Law for Supervisors (3 hrs.)

This workshop will cover current ethical issues in supervision and board rules to assist supervisors in keeping up-to-date with best practices.

Learning Objectives:

1. Review Georgia Board Rules for LPC licensure and identify any current changes

2. Practice completing accurate APC and LPC applications

3. Critically discuss common and challenging ethical issues in supervision



Applied Ethical Considerations in Supervision (3 hrs.)

This course includes a refresher of the key components of the ACA Code of Ethics. Other ethical codes and guidelines from LPCA, AMHCA, and ACES will be explored to develop ethical decision making in each participant. Ethical scenarios will be utilized to provide an interactive way to apply ethical codes and laws to ethical issues in supervision practice.

Learning Objectives:

1. Review ethical codes for ACA and other related codes to promote ethical practice of supervision

2. Learn to apply ethical decision making through role plays and ethical scenarios related to supervision

3. Explore legal considerations and ethical practice related to multiple practice settings that supervisees may engage in



Day 3- (6 hrs.)-Descriptions and Objectives
Embracing the Digital Shift: Online Supervision Training for Counseling Supervisors (6 hrs.)

This workshop delves into the intricacies, benefits, and challenges of online supervision, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively oversee their supervisees from afar. Engage in hands-on experiences, real-time demonstrations, and interactive discussions that bridge the gap between traditional supervision methods and the demands of our digital age.

L earning Objectives:

1 . Gain a comprehensive understanding of online supervision, its relevance in today's digital age, and how it compares and contrasts with traditional supervision methods

2 . Explore the ethical concerns inherent in telesupervision, from confidentiality to technological issues, and equip participants with best practices to address these challenges

3 . Hone skills in conducting effective online supervision, fostering strong supervisor-supervisee relationships, and utilizing technology to enhance the supervision process



Day 4- (8 hrs.)-Descriptions and Objectives
Variables of Supervision-Part 2 (2 hrs.)

This workshop examines the building blocks of effective supervision. Supervision Skills Training (6 hrs.)

This workshop builds upon the people-oriented and behavioral aspects of clinical supervision discussed in the Masterpiece model of clinical supervision. Participants will gain valuable experience in practicing skills and receiving constructive feedback for both individual and group supervision.

Learning Objectives:

1. Demonstrate clinical supervision skills based on a supervision model

2. Analyze case scenarios and recordings in order to determine and develop participants’ individual supervisory style

3. Participants will apply supervision skills by working with in-training and developing counselors and receive individualized feedback



Dr. Arcella Daniels (Formerly Trimble), LPC, CPCS, ACS

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Arcella is a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified School Psychologist, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Consultant, and Master Teacher. She is an expert in Behavior Modification, Learning, Research, Supervision, and Training. During her tenure at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Kennedy Krieger Institute, Dr. Arcella specialized in parent training and marriage and family therapy. Additionally, Dr. Arcella has worked as an assistant professor and contributing faculty member at several colleges and universities. Dr. Arcella has provided training and presentations for local and national conferences.

With 20+ years of experience, Dr. Arcella has worked with clients in mental health facilities (inpatient and outpatient clinics, university counseling center, community health organizations), businesses, schools, and private practice. In her clinical practice, Dr. Arcella uses cognitive behavioral treatments to promote wellness in individuals, couples, and women. Dr. Arcella also has experience in career and lifestyle development with millennials. As a consultant, she assists organizations and individuals with issues pertaining to diversity, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and labor, behavior modification, and strategic planning. Dr. Arcella has served as a consultant for organizations such as the CDC, Spelman College, and DeKalb County Schools. Through the use of evidenced based treatment, data collection, assessment, and uniquely crafted experiential learning and behavioral activities, Dr. Arcella successfully enhances outcomes for individuals, groups, and businesses.



Dr. Jillian Samms-Hudson, LPC, CPCS

Director of Programming

Jillian is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Georgia. She is a native of Kingston, Jamaica and has conducted psycho-educational assessments both privately and publicly through the Regional Assessment Team at the Ministry of Education in Jamaica as a Licensed Associate School Psychologist. Jillian is an advocate for those with special needs and has an avid interest in improving inclusive school environments and school-based interventions as well as using the creative arts in wellness. She has a passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents on developing prosocial skills, social-emotional competence, positive coping strategies, and healthy parenting tools. Jillian holds a certificate in Play Therapy and a Diploma in Dance Education which she utilizes to enhance interaction in individual and group sessions. She has held consultancy positions in schools, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations and collaborated on various research projects in the areas of child development and assessment.

Jillian has presented at presented at national and local conferences on topics related to teacher self-efficacy and parent behavioral training. She has developed curriculum and lectured at various universities in a part-time or guest lecturer capacity. She also holds a Telehealth Training Certificate and conducts individual therapy sessions virtually. Most recently, Jillian has developed content and presented at training workshops for the Masterpiece institute on topics related to Clinical Supervision which is an interest area for her.



Eric Rodgers, M.A., LPC, NCC, BCC, CMAC, BC-TMH

Trainer

Eric is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has presented at multiple conferences on topics such as ethical issues in clinical practice and supervision, clinical supervision skills, and pseudoscientific approaches to mental health. Eric has served as the publication editor and CPCS credential program manager for the Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia (LPCAGA). He has been published in LPC connection and has helped develop curriculums for multiple training programs

Eric's professional experience includes working as a clinical director, lead therapist, utilization review coordinator, intake counselor, and therapist in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
