ASG are happy to announce the 3rd Scottish Hema Intramural Longsword Tournament and gathering day. PLEASE READ THIS FULL POST
This is the 3rd in a series of longsword events designed to help fencers gain more experience in a non-ranked setting, and for newer fencers to experience tournaments and events in a more supportive environment, reducing pressure in the real thing.
The event is open to fencers 18+ who have not placed at an open tournament before, club leadership and instructors are also not to take part as the event is focused on developing newer fencers and give a better chance of seeing them progress further in the event.
The event will be a bit different from the standard tournament, as it is a team event.
Teams of 3 will compete against other teams through pools and eliminations to win! Team will be made up of different levels of fencers to make sure everyone has 'someone in their corner' and have support through the event.
There is currently space for up to 8 teams of 3, however, if there is enough people willing to judge, we may expand this to 12 teams of 3.

At this time we are looking for those willing to volunteer to help judge the event to know if we have enough people to help. If you are judging, you will not be able to take part in the tournament; however, there will be open sparring available on the day.

Team sign-ups will open on Saturday 10th of January at 1pm.
Another form to sign up to just come and spar on the day will also go out on the same day. There will be a dedicated sparring area open all day.
The event will cost £10, and all proceeds will go to charity (TBC)
