The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD), with help from Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, is looking for one special dog to represent the city as its 2026 Spokesdog to raise awareness about poo-llution. There will be several fun activities, including trivia, cornhole, a pet caricature artist, and snacks for humans. The Spokesdog competition will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m. The PWD Spokesdog judges will crown the new PWD Spokesdog for 2026 based on overall demeanor and a series of tasks, including showing off your dog’s best trick. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
The winning dog will lead the charge throughout the 2026-2027 year, educating people about the importance of responsible waste disposal habits at in-person events and through educational campaigns.
To enter the competition, bring your leashed pup to the venue on the day of the event for the festivities. Hope to see you there!
