Join Falls Area Bicyclists and cyclists worldwide for the 24th Anniversary of the Ride of Silence. On Wednesday, May 20th at 7:00 PM, we will join hundreds of locations across the globe to take to the roads in a silent, slow-paced procession (max 12 mph). We ride to honor those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways, to raise awareness that cyclists are here, and to ask that we all share the road.
Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves. This ride is a powerful, silent statement and a chance to show respect for the lives of those who have been impacted by tragic crashes.
Pre-Ride Program:
Before we depart, we will gather for a brief memorial and dedication program at the south side of the Levitt Shell (the same starting point as our 2025 event). The program will include:
• A short speech by someone personally impacted by a bike/motor vehicle crash
• A reading of the official Ride of Silence poem
• A moment of prayer and reflection
• A brief safety talk
• A special send-off (featuring a bagpiper or similar tribute)
The Ride:
Following the program, we will depart together. The route will be ridden as a "funeral procession." We ask all riders to maintain strict silence throughout the ride as a way to show respect to the victims and their families. Please wear your helmets and follow all rules of the road.
There are no registration fees for this event. We hope you will join us in making this a powerful and memorable evening.
(Note: In the event of severe weather, our rain date postponement is scheduled for Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 AM).
