About this Event
Each year, over 220,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the color and grace of the Japanese culture and the diversity of the Japanese American Community.
This year’s Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12 and April 18-19, 2026. The festival will be held on Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore Streets. There will be food booths, cultural performances, martial arts, live bands, the annual Queen Program, and more. The Grand Parade will be held on Sunday, April 19, beginning at City Hall and concluding in Japantown.
To make this year a success, we need your help! We accomplish this by having volunteers throughout the city and the Bay Area to help make this festival a success. We are actively looking for volunteers.
All volunteers will be assisting the logistics team. In addition, any supplies (such as gloves, brooms, dust pans, etc.) essential to completing assigned duties will be provided at the information booth. The following are examples of the logistics team's needs from all volunteers:
April 10 &17
- Assist staff with setting up the The Center on Sutter St, KOHO and Union Bank Community Room in the East Mall
April 11, 12, 18 & 19
- Delivering and setting up barricades, tables, chairs, and other supplies
- Setting up, maintaining, and organizing green compost, black trash, and blue recycle bins
- Beautify the festival grounds
- Securing areas around the festival
- Gate & traffic monitoring
- Other requests as needed
April 20 - Assist staff with cleaning up the KOHO and move equipment back to storage. Additional post-festival cleaning around Japantown.
Please only take as many spaces as you can fill. It becomes difficult to fill in spots you give up as the dates get closer. We will drop duplicate registrants so please fill out each individual's name.
