Katie Walker (♥NYC Dramaturgs creative producer & NYC metro regional VP) will host the second Love, NYC Dramaturgs (a love letter from dramaturgs to the New York theatre community) in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center on Tuesday 17 February from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. This year's legacy panelist, Ira Weitzman (Mindich Musical Theater Producer at Lincoln Center Theater and creator of the Musical Theater Program at Playwrights Horizons) will speak about his dramaturgical and producing work on shows throughout his career including Into the Woods, Assassins, Once on This Island, Hello Again, Parade, Violet and The Light in the Piazza, among others.
The Love Letter to Current Collaborations panel will feature Cooper Howell (Associate Director, CATS: The Jellicle Ball) speaking about the upcoming Broadway production (previews starting Wednesday 18 March) and Jonathan Kalb (Theatre for a New Audience Resident Literary Advisor and Dramaturg) speaking about ongoing TFANA collaborations as well as The Tragedy of Coriolanus (1 February through 1 March).
The afternoon will feature performances from Pace University Musical Theatre students Morgan Robbins and Netza Jimenez with piano accompaniment from Emmy Award winning composer and Music Director Sean Pallatroni.
The event is sponsored by the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and will celebrate the love of theatrical collaboration through a symposium. It will be filmed by Transcend Streaming and live streamed & archived by HowlRound Theatre Commons.
