Wed., June 19 Depart for Berlin sites: Checkpoint Charlie/Berlin Wall, Reichstag/Cupola Dome, city center, Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, “Unter den Linen” Blvd, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Berlin Cathedral, Hof- and Domkirche/Hohenzollern dynasty. Dinner and overnight in Berlin.
Thurs, June 20 Depart for Wittenberg. (En route, visit Glieneck “Bridge of Spies.”) Tour All Saints Church/Schlosskirche (where Luther posted his 95 Theses), and St. Mary’s Church (where Luther preached). Open lunch in Market Square. Visit Luther House, the monastery where Luther lived as a monk, as well as the Melanchthon House. Dinner and overnight in Wittenberg.
Fri., June 21 Depart for Eisenach’s Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the New Testament into German. Open lunch and continue to Erfurt, spiritual home of Luther. Lodging provided at Erfurt Augustinian Monastery where Luther lived for six years. Vespers at Erfurt Augustinian Monastery. Dinner and overnight in Erfurt.
Sabbath, June 22 Sabbath worship at Erfurt Augustinian Monastery and provided vegetarian lunch. Afternoon tour of Monastery, St. Mary’s Cathedral, and the Church of St. Severus. Dinner and overnight in Erfurt.
Sun., June 23 Depart for Nuremberg. Visit documentation center and Nazi rally grounds where Hitler spoke. Dinner and overnight in Nuremberg.
Mon., June 24 Depart for Dachau Concentration Camp outside Munich. Continue to Bavaria. Dinner and overnight in Fussen, Bavaria.
Tues. June 25 Breakfast and relaxing morning in Fussen. Visit to Neuschwantstein Castle. Take a run or two on the Alpine Slide. Dinner and overnight in Fussen.
Optional Extension to Salzburg/Sound of Music Castle

Wed., June 26 Depart Bavaria for Eagle’s Nest at Kehlstein Summit where Nazi leadership decisions were made. Continue onto Salzburg, Austria, and the beautiful Schloss Leopoldskron “Sound of Music” castle and lake. (Suite upgrades at the castle are available on a first-come basis. See below.) Evening dinner party and overnight at the Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg.
Thurs., June 27 Enjoy leisurely breakfast and morning at the Schloss. Walk into Salzburg. Take delightful Fraulein Maria’s Bicycle Tour or bus tour of Sound of Music sights. Free time in Salzburg to visit Mozart’s birthplace, Marionnette Theatre, or shop. Open dinner in Salzburg. Overnight at the Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg.
Fri., June 28 Breakfast and transfer to Salzburg or Munich airport.

The Schloss Leopoldskron is an elite hotel whose castle building, lake, and grounds appeared in “The Sound of Music.” Our tour package includes a standard double room (or single room) in the Meierhof building adjacent to the Schloss castle building. Breakfast is served in the Schloss, and all guests have access all day to the Schloss building and grounds. Tour Package includes: first-class hotels, sightseeing and admission, motorcoach transportation, all gratuities, two meals/day. (Not included: one meal/day; airport transfers.)
Trip Insurance: Trip Insurance is included through Adventist Risk Management. The insurance covers post-departure emergencies, including hospitalization and lost luggage, and also up to $1000 for trip cancellation for medical reasons. (Increased cancellation coverage is also available.) Insurance is purchased at final payment four months prior to the trip and does not cover the initial $250 deposit.
FLIGHT: Est. $1000-$1500 roundtrip. Your multi-city itinerary will be (1) Home Airport-Berlin and (2) Salzburg (or Munich)-Home Airport. Airfares will come available August 2023, and flight guidance will be provided at that time.
SPECIAL FOCUS AND PRESENTER: The focus of our Germany/Austria 500 tour will be Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation, the events of World War II, and beyond. Our main presenter will Dr. Volker Henning, native of Germany and longtime Adventist professor and administrator, as well as local step-on guides.
