About this Event

Join cocktail writer Camper English for this walking tour of San Francisco history focussing on the bars, bartenders, cocktails, and saloons of the city.

This special edition of the tour takes place on the 120th anniversary of the April 18, 1906 earthquake and fire. We've partnered with Argonaut California Brandy to provide cocktails and light snacks at three bar stops along the way!

We'll begin our tour at The Old Ship Saloon, the site of the city's oldest continually operating bar, where we'll learn about the early days of the Gold Rush. Then we'll head over toward the Transamerica Pyramid, the former home of the Pisco Punch, to talk about the opulent years just before the quake.

Near the site of some surviving buildings, we'll cover the quake itself, and three days of fires. After a pit stop for a drink at High Horse along the way, we'll discuss the city's quick recovery and take a stroll down the former party avenue nicknamed "Terrific Street." We'll end our tour in the restored 1907 Comstock Saloon for a final cocktail and snacks as we toast to San Francisco, the city that rose from ashes!
