About this Event
The retentions of African indigenous cultural and spiritual practices are experienced in varying degrees throughout its diaspora. We invite you to our celebration of the 10th anniversary of three titles that centre on these retentions: folk narratives, myth-making, drumming ('wok') and storytelling. Our audio book reader, Margaret David will be joined by Coreen Harris-Carberry to read extracts in the Guyanese Creolise that are richly expressed in the books. All are welcome to this FREE reading celebration, which also marks the 60th year of Guyana's independence, and supports the National Year of Reading in the UK. This event is sponsored by BAME Voice, Merton.
