En esta sesión del ciclo Cien Científicas, la investigadora en educación y equidad de género María José Martínez Bravo (University College London) y la experta en inteligencia artificial Nuria Oliver (Directora de ELLIS Alicante) explorarán cómo la ciencia y la tecnología pueden transformar la sociedad y la educación, desde las primeras etapas escolares hasta la investigación avanzada.
A partir de sus trayectorias internacionales —que incluyen instituciones como MIT, Microsoft Research, Karolinska Institutet y King's College London— reflexionarán sobre la curiosidad, la colaboración global y el compromiso social en la construcción del conocimiento científico y educativo. La conversación abordará cómo la inteligencia artificial y la investigación en educación y equidad de género pueden converger para fomentar la igualdad de oportunidades y motivar a las nuevas generaciones a imaginar soluciones innovadoras para un mundo más justo y saludable.

Victoria García Giner es investigadora en el Rosalind Franklin Institute, donde desarrolla técnicas de microscopía de vanguardia para abordar retos biológicos de alto impacto social, desde las enfermedades neurodegenerativas hasta los efectos de la contaminación en la salud. Su trayectoria destaca por una sólida visión multidisciplinar, integrando la química, la ingeniería biomédica y los materiales para conectar el laboratorio con el mundo real. Más allá del microscopio, Victoria es una activa divulgadora que impulsa el diálogo científico a través de CERU y otras plataformas, convencida de que la intersección entre diversas disciplinas y la comunicación es clave para afrontar los desafíos de la educación y la igualdad en nuestra sociedad actual.

In an increasingly interconnected world, the challenges of science and education require bringing together diverse disciplines, data, and perspectives. In this session of the Cien Científicas series, education and gender equity researcher María José Martínez Bravo (University College London) and artificial intelligence expert Nuria Oliver (Director of ELLIS Alicante) will explore how science and technology can transform society and education, from the earliest school stages to advanced research.
Drawing on their international careers —which include institutions such as MIT, Microsoft Research, the Karolinska Institutet, and King’s College London— they will reflect on curiosity, global collaboration, and social commitment in building scientific and educational knowledge. The conversation will address how artificial intelligence and research on education and gender equity can converge to foster equal opportunities and inspire new generations to imagine innovative solutions for a fairer, healthier world.
Beyond scientific and technological advances, the focus will be placed on education, the transmission of passion for science, and the need for new female researchers and educators capable of leading with impact. An inspiring talk about science, vocation, and the power of knowledge to transform society.

Victoria García Giner is a researcher at the Rosalind Franklin Institute, where she develops cutting-edge microscopy workflows to address biological challenges with high social impact, ranging from neurodegenerative diseases to the effects of pollution on health. Her career is distinguished by a solid multidisciplinary vision, integrating chemistry, biomedical engineering, and materials science to connect the laboratory with the real world. Beyond the microscope, Victoria is an active science communicator who promotes scientific dialogue through SRUK/CERU and other platforms, convinced that the intersection of diverse disciplines and communication is key to tackling the challenges of education and equality in today's society.
