About this Event:
In this festival, the Green Shirt community will create, rehearse, and perform four new ten minute plays. This is a fun opportunity for members of our community to collaborate, try something new, and hone their craft.
Before signing up, please look at each role’s responsibilities and the dates you’d need to be available to participate.
If you have any conflicts with the dates listed, please contact [email protected] before you sign-up to discuss your conflicts.
Schedule:
All actors and directors must attend the dates shown below. Do not sign up to act or direct if you cannot attend any of the following dates.
Again - please double check your calendar before signing up. There are 4 rehearsals and one live performance.
Virtual Get Together & 1st Table Read: 12/27, 7-9pm
Rehearsal #1: Thursday, January 2
Rehearsal #2: Friday, January 3
Tech: Saturday, January 4
Show: Sunday, January 5 @7pm (actor’s call will be 6pm)
We regularly host these events. If your schedule conflicts with the above dates, we’d love to see you at the next one!
Theme: Possibilities
The possibilities are endless. Who knows what’s going to happen?
Each play should be roughly 10 pages long (a minute per page) and must include:
- A character experiencing a monumental change to their external circumstances like they just had their first child or they’re going through a big breakup or the just landed their dream job
- A monologue delivered by a character who isn’t the one experiencing the monumental change that does not exceed 60 seconds
- At least a reference to it being set in the first week of January
Role Responsibilities
Writers:
Attend 3 writing workshops and Get Together
Have your first draft complete by December 21 and final draft completed December 27.
Write a 10 minute play for 3 actors inspired by the theme of the festival! Your team will be assigned to you so you know what actors you’re writing for

Directors:
Attend Get Together and all scheduled rehearsals
Direct! Help your actors get in touch with the story they’re telling.
First time directors welcome
Be the cheerleader and organizer for your team. Schedule any necessary meetings outside of preexisting rehearsals and keep communication flowing throughout the process
Actors:
Attend Get Together, all scheduled rehearsals, and performances
Act! Be a collaborative, open, excited actor
Do your best to come to your first rehearsal with your lines memorized
Who Can Participate?
All current and former Green Shirt students are invited to participate. There is no experience required to write, direct, or act.
